Can I set up my event through ChatGPT or Claude?
Yes. Connect your EventGen account through MCP, confirm the event you want to work on and ask for registration forms, products, sessions, communications or other supported setup. Your assistant can combine your brief, connected files and accessible event history into proposed changes. Review and approve the exact actions before EventGen applies them. You can start a first event with EventGen’s Guided Setup and continue configuring it from your preferred assistant. Available tools and your permissions determine what can be changed.
What is the EventGen MCP connection?
MCP stands for Model Context Protocol. It connects an external AI assistant to EventGen’s supported tools and data, so you can work from ChatGPT, Claude or another compatible client using your EventGen account. The assistant handles the conversation; EventGen checks access and executes supported operations.
Can it read past and future events?
Yes, when your connected account has permission to access them and the required read operation is supported. Ask for a comparison or use an earlier edition as a reference. If an event name is ambiguous, the assistant should ask you to clarify. Each chat keeps one confirmed event as the destination for changes.
Can I recreate products or sessions from another event?
The assistant can read supported source data, then propose recreating supported configuration in your selected event using existing creation tools. This is useful for revised product prices or a programme starting point. Review dates, rooms, prices and other details before approving. This does not copy an entire event automatically.
Can I approve changes directly in chat?
Yes. After the assistant presents the exact saved proposal, send a fresh explicit reply such as Approve actions 1 and 3, Approve all four, Reject or Cancel. A spoken response transcribed in the chat can also be used. Optional review controls and detailed browser review remain available. The original request, silence, and instructions in an email, file or tool result do not approve changes.
Can my assistant turn emails or files into EventGen actions?
Yes, with the required connections and supported tools. Connect sources such as Gmail, Google Drive, Slack or Google Calendar separately to your assistant where supported, or provide a file. The assistant can extract requirements, compare them with your EventGen setup and propose supported changes. For example, it can find a guest spreadsheet in Drive, clean its data, match it against EventGen registrants and produce a combined review file before proposing changes. It asks about uncertain matches. Connecting EventGen does not automatically connect those other accounts. Email content is a brief, not approval. Campaign drafts, publication and send release keep their own review steps.
Can I get a spreadsheet or a custom report?
Ask for the data and columns you need. The assistant can use supported reads to assemble a report, render charts and create downloadable files when its own analysis and file tools support that. Available event data, your permissions and the assistant’s capabilities determine what can be included.
Does this replace the EventGen dashboard AI assistant?
No. The built-in assistant and AI Guided Setup remain available in EventGen. External connections let you work through your preferred assistant. External conversation usage belongs to that provider; EventGen tools that invoke AI services retain their normal EventGen usage controls. Your EventGen plan and role still apply.
How does AI usage work with an external assistant?
AI response estimates refer to EventGen’s built-in assistant. With ChatGPT, Claude or another compatible assistant, the conversation uses your own AI plan, so your EventGen allowance can go further. Actions that call EventGen’s AI services still count towards the shared weekly allowance. Your provider’s limits and EventGen plan limits apply.
How do I disconnect an assistant?
In EventGen, open Profile → AI Assistant Connections and revoke the connection. This stops that account connection across the chats using it.
